We must protect our LIONS

💖💖 The Baby Lion

The lion is our (Srilankan) national animal. It is called the king of the forest. The lion has a strong body. It is a big animal. All the animals in the forest are afraid of it. It is four-legged. It eats flesh. Its paws are very strong. Its footprints are known as pug-marks. It has two sharp eyes. It hunts during the night. It is a good hunter. It sleeps during the day. It comes out from the cave during night for food.

Baby lions are cute and wild🐾. They’re one of the most iconic animals on the African savanna, an absolute dream to encounter on safari. There are so many threats to their survival and it can seem that everyone on the savanna is out to get them. They can be trampled by herds, shot by poachers, and eaten by other lions or predators. The correct word to use when referring to a baby lion is a cub🙅, the same as a baby leopardIf you prefer to keep calling them baby lions, well that’s perfectly fine too. All the lactating females in a pride suckle cubs showing no favoritism for their own offspring.

Lion cubs spend most of their day playing which is serious business for baby lions. Lion cubs play by stalking each other, playing hide and seek and wrestling with each other.  With this they develop vital skills that they will use later in life when they have to hunt for themselves.

Baby Lion life cycle

The smell of blood from newborn, injured, or dead animals will have mountain lions banging at your doorstep. The only way you can protect these animals is by making sure you treat all the injured animals as soon as injuries happen. Additionally, you can lock up the vulnerable or injured animals in a secure enclosure. Here’s what you can do to make the world a better place for lions. Adopt a lion. By adopting a lion, you’ll be making a monthly contribution which will fund the organization’s projects to protect lions and reduce human-lion conflict. Plus, you’ll be receiving regular updates on how your money is helping and a cuddly toy to love forever...!
